In a recent article, @nytdavidbrooks wrote: marriage is a 50 year conversation, so marry someone with whom you enjoy talking. Tonight I celebrated 36 years and 4 days of amazing conversations with this lovely lady. I only hope we have more than 14 years to come.🥂
“For every half-wit decision by a poseur in a 42-long, slim-fit suit, they report even harder. This ethic has been especially true in the renowned Sports section (of the @washingtonpost)…” Thanks @SallyJenki for your insight. https://t.co/vSNgIcNm93
My favorite ⚾️ team is the @SFGiants. As a kid in Georgia, my favorite player was Willie Mays. When I moved to the SF Bay Area, it was Clark, Bonds, Lincecum, Cain, Bumgarner, and Posey. But Clayton Kershaw is the best pitcher of the 2010s. To a great career!🥂
Happy Birthday Pat!🎂🎸🎼 I’ve been fortunate to see him many times over the past 40 years, most recently performing solo last year at the Carolina Theatre in Durham. Spectacular!
Happy birthday to Pat Metheny, born on this day in 1954!
From his groundbreaking work with the Pat Metheny Group to collaborations with jazz greats and adventurous solo projects, Metheny blends jazz, folk, rock, and world music into something uniquely his own.
With his warm tone, lyrical phrasing, and fearless curiosity, he’s created music that’s both technically dazzling and deeply human.
A true modern guitar legend.
“Kaz” Kajimura’s efforts enabled his club—Yoshi’s—to become a Bay Area jazz tradition, giving hundreds of local students a chance to play on the same stage as jazz legends. A life well lived. #RIPKaz🥂🎼 https://t.co/uOdmc5GJtY
Happy 52nd wedding anniversary to @ChuckLeavell and Rose Lane Leavell! The young couple is pictured here sometime around 1974 at a party at the Allman Brothers farm. Photo by Herb Kossover
A very good list of iconic recording studios by @SVG__Collection. I was fortunate to visit many as head of product marketing for Ampex (456) studio mastering tape in 1985 - 86. I would add The Record Plant (New York, LA, and Sausalito, CA) and Townhouse Studios (London).
The most iconic recording studios in the world. A thread 🧵
We usually remember the musicians who made the music we love, but not many give credit to the places where the music was created...
