Flight Attendant: “Excuse me, could you please move to another seat?”
Me: “Move? I paid for this seat.”
Flight Attendant: “I know, and I’m sorry. We’re asking because there’s a passenger who needs this particular row.”
Me: “Then why was I assigned this seat in the first place?”
Flight Attendant: “There was a last-minute change.”
Me: “That’s not really my problem. I checked in early specifically so I could keep this seat.”
Flight Attendant: “I completely understand. We can offer you another seat two rows behind.”
Me: “Is it the same type of seat?”
Flight Attendant: “No, it’s a middle seat.”
Me: “Then that’s not an equivalent seat.”
Flight Attendant: “I’m not trying to inconvenience you.”
Me: “But you are. You’re asking me to give up the seat I paid extra for so someone else can have it.”
Flight Attendant: “There’s more to the situation than that.”
