In August, we will be reading The Crowded Street by Winifred Holtby. The feminist classic from 1924. We'll be meeting a week later than usual on Monday 19th August at 7pm UK time on Zoom.

We had a good chat this evening about The Wren, The Wren by Anne Enright. Book which though we'll written with some lovely description of the natural world some of us were underwhelmed by.

Lovely meeting tonight to discuss The Millstone by Margaret Drabble. We talked about how the society at this time treated women, especially within health care settings. Members had mixed reactions to the narrator.

Great meeting last night talking about The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark. What a clever writer she was. She does so much within a short novel. We all enjoyed it in different ways I think. A good start to 2024.
