BREAKING: MAGA Governor Greg Abbott digs in his heels in horrifying fashion by announcing that Texas will NOT be removing the floating barriers in the Rio Grande river that can cause migrants to drown — despite the Justice Department ordering him to do so.

Proving that killing vulnerable migrants is part of the Republican political project, Abbott sent a deranged letter to President Biden defending his illegal barriers.

"Texas will fully utilize its constitutional authority to deal with the crisis you have caused,” Abbott wrote to Biden. "Texas will see you in court, Mr. President."

The Justice Department has already threatened legal action against the state for its "dangerous and unlawful" barriers and slammed them as "cruel and putting both migrants and border agents in danger."

Crucially, the DOJ has a thoroughly compelling case because the law expressly forbids states from erecting these kinds of barrier without federal approval.

The law states that construction of obstructions in navigable waters requires permission specifically from the Army Corps of Engineers which Texas refused to obtain.

Abbott is trying to run his state like the king of a secessionist territory — and he's about to pay the price in court.
