Brunel Marxist Society is fighting for a socialist future. Join us in our fight, you have nothing to lose but your chains! Part of the IMT and @marxiststudent
If you'll be studying at Brunel University this September; get in touch to find out more about the Marxist Society on campus!
The following article is an excellent articulation of who we are, what we're fighting for, and why you should join us!: https://t.co/Fhzyk4fFw0
@linkshund@revcommunists Maybe more time, probably less time. The modifications we were suggesting to their strategy would only make it more effective not less though. You can still blockade a factory while engaging with the workers inside it. That is all we are calling for.
@linkshund@revcommunists We aren't opposed to a picket outside the factory, however where we disagree with the current movement for that factory shutdown was not making an attempt to communicate with the workers, who would have far more power to actually shut down the production of arms.
@HunttheBismarck@Comrade_Lavas @jaydoescomicz Hi, been I've been doing some stuff with a London based group called WFFP and they do try and build ties with the workers. This is something I'd like to get involved with going forward but I still need to do the training for this particular role.
@linkshund@revcommunists For Marxists the question we ask is "what will be the most effective way to stop arms being produced at the factory?". Rafael is an Israeli firm, clearly it is not going to fire the workers. So what is your solution to shut down Rafael in the long run.
@deeLteeS@danthecommunist Firstly read the introduction to the article, it's a bit unfair to call it shooting left. We can have a disagreement in some areas of strategy whilst still supporting the movement as a whole.
@DiodeLass @revcommunists Quite possibly, no. Capitalist Propaganda is strong and have bought into the myth of a moral British military. While this myth is obviously incorrect to socialists, if we are to be serious about revolution, we need to win over the type of workers who'd have a maximum impact on
@gaoblai@revcommunists In India thousands of dockworkers have agreed to stop loading ships with arms that are headed to Israel. This wasn't achieved by making an enemy of the dockworkers, but rather by convincing them to get onboard with the movement.
@alejandrsg17@amithecommie You are correct, they are not. However they are a remarkably good way to initiate a conversation on the streets, and to hand to someone as an easy way to see where we stand on current affairs. Your critique would maybe be important if we didn't also do other forms of media
@ArnadaRecords @philthatremains As we are able to politically organise above the law (at least for now). Feel free to disagree with us on our politics, but we are not a part of BAs group
@ArnadaRecords @philthatremains Just to clarify we have absolutely nothing to do with BA he is part of the RCP our American party is the RCA (I am part of British section which is called the RCP but the british RCP name existed well before the US one). We have no need for front groups of any kind in the west
@philthatremains @ArnadaRecords Edit: our American section is called the RCA, you are talking of the American RCP which is different. Our British section has just been renamed to the RCP but this is after a predecessor organisation that existed in 1940s Britain and has nothing to do with the US RCP
The US House of Representatives just overwhelmingly approved resolution 894, which “clearly and firmly states that anti-Zionism is antisemitism” by a vote of 311-14.
This is scandalous McCarthyism, and an utter affront to those who support the struggle for a free Palestine. 🧵
