The most infuriating myths being spread about BB ad infinitum on this godforsaken site:
1) It was all TB, BB can't win without him.
2) BB doesn't know how to build a roster or identify offensive talent.
This is probably gonna be long because it's gonna have to be:
@buckyeffingdent I'd go as far to say that it masked whenever the NE O-line was in a rebuilding phase (with the most noticeable example of this being 2012). Always a correlation between Brady being nicknamed a dink and dunk specialist when he was lacking weapons or real blocking.
@101footballhere@KyleGunzinger There's one play where you can see Rhamondre pointing out that there are two blitzers on the side he's blocking but Maye lets him try to block 2 and just tries to run out, leading to an awful throw that he's lucky wasn't grounding.
@101footballhere@buckyeffingdent There was a good sideline video of the Seahawks safeties talking about how predictable he was to defend, because apparently he double checks if the receiver's open as soon as his back foot is set, letting them know where and when to go.
@AndrewBoucher @SavageSports_ @NFL_DF Also short three step drops aren't a part of Maye's game. It's something Pats fans got used to with Brady when he was playing blitz heavy teams or when the OL was rebuilding. It's how he could've kept the blitzers honest along with a proper no huddle. Instead he kept looking deep
@buckyeffingdent@101footballhere Campbell was playing well before he got injured and looked like he just sucked it up and played the rest of the year. Hoping he has a big bounce back year. Would've been good though if Maye could also do the short quick drop throws as well to help back off the blitz.
@mikewichter People shit on dinking and dunking a lot but that's what's been missing from Maye's game, esp in games like today where he needs to be able to get the ball out of his hands quick to make the blitz back off. He couldn't, and they blitzed all day. Needs more TB than Brett Favre.
@michaelFhurley He's a rookie who's been playing injured all year. Let's just shit on him and ruin his confidence for the rest of his career why don't we...
@101footballhere@KyleGunzinger Just imagine if he could even just run three step drops and timing throws better. Not that he had to against the abysmal defenses he played all year. Seahawks knew though that he couldn't and blitzed all day. Had no reason for them to back off.
@mikewichter Was hoping for some real two minute drills but they took an eternity to get to the line and he didn't even seem to consider the quick throw options. Seahawks could tell too.
@SavageSports_ Not McDaniels' fault Maye's short passing game needs some work. If he can't work those into his overall game, he's screwed without a running game keeping the blitz away. Otherwise, he's fumbling a lot more than he did holding the ball for attempted deep throws.
Maye should call up TB12 for the offseason. Needs to cut out the turnovers and work on his dinking and dunking if he wants to be a complete thrower. As Seattle showed him, no point being a deep ball specialist if you don't have time for one.
@callsign_ratrod But also, did you watch how Brady played that season? He showed composure under pressure and got much better in the 2 seasons that followed, but to act like he carried that 2001 team shows that you didn't watch them play.
@callsign_ratrod I haven't blocked anyone. In fact I've signed into this godforsaken website like, 3 times in the last few months. Some of us have lives.
@callsign_ratrod@incarceratedbob Bruh he was in the Browns. That cursed franchise will make everyone's record look terrible. Can say similar things with Vrabel with the Titans.
@incarceratedbob And don't forget the game plan that shut down the Rams the second time and Manning for a number of years. TB12 would still have SBs but maybe 2-3 less without BB.
