@BBrownIndy The way you speak with such certainty is frustrating. Jesse represents District 13 — how would you know how many of his constituents attend charter schools? I'd love to see your data, since I've been trying to do similar neighborhood analyses.
@jaketeshka@AAUPPurdue Perceptions are not data in the sense that you are trying to use data to justify your legislation.
We don’t need a bill to regulate free exchange of ideas. I have done nothing more in these tweets than I do in the classroom daily. We already DO intellectual diversity.
@jaketeshka@AAUPPurdue And in full transparency, here are the full results. Sorry, but there is no there there. Lastly, I would just like to note that this type of dialogue, which I believe has been mostly respectful, would be discouraged in the classroom under SB202. I urge you to vote no.
@jaketeshka@AAUPPurdue Also, how do you know the 37% aren’t choosing the never option? Those highlights don’t reveal the rest of the data. This one is actually representative, I’ll give you that. So show me the data. Where is the problem?
@jaketeshka Hi. I publish quantitative research. I hate to break it to you but these results are not generalizable. So, while they may not be made up, they also don’t prove that there is a problem. This methodology would not pass through peer review by intellectually diverse scholars.
Indiana Senate Bill 202, a controversial bill that has been condemned by professors statewide, passed the House Education Committee on Wednesday. It will go to the House for a wider vote next week. https://t.co/rUkd7vRgMs
A sampling of anti-SB202 flyers posted around @BallState campus. This is not us (i.e. not AAUP); it is apparently a student-led effort, part of the wider grassroots movement to #StopSB202. @BallStateDaily @TheStarPress
