I would like to address an issue that is being driven from the top down.
As a conservative, and generally a supporter of this administration- we have a local issue that needs the full attention of those who are driving this.
@WestwinElements is proposing to open a nickel refinery in Richmond Hill, Ga.
While we are the fastest growing county in Georgia, and are very cooperate friendly, there are some very important issues to address.
@realDonaldTrump is striving to make our nation less reliant on foreign countries for many things, to include minerals, bring in American jobs, grow our economy, and make America (and its citizens) more wealthy. All of which is phenomenal and I think everyone should support! However, we must do this the correct way, and ensure we place these industries in the correct geographical locations.
The proposed location for the @WestwinElements nickel refinery would be convenient for them, as it truly does fit their need but, the issue is it is not the proper location.
We have a delicate ecosystem that consists of mainly marshlands. Even the smallest flood (which happens fairly regularly in a tidal community) puts our fisheries, residents, first responders, and other businesses at risk of contamination.
@realDonaldTrump - please understand. The community that is company is proposing to come to is for you, with you, and supports you, this is simply the wrong location.
The situation locally is quickly turning hostile toward this company.
Most of the conversation has been in person, in meetings, and Facebook.
I chose to use this platform to hopefully get someone’s attention that can help find a better suited location for something we support, just not in this location.
I’ve tried tagging @RepBuddyCarter, @DonaldJTrumpJr, @BrianKempGA, @JDVance , @TuckerCarlson et al. On Facebook with no traction.
In closing, we’re not AGAINST America first, but we are community first in this scenario.
