@ToryFibs I'll tell you exactly why he's being criticised more: Because he's trying to appeal to the left, and all those Tory MPs, Lib Dem MPs, Reform MPs, and even most Labour MPs aren't. If he's appealing to the left, he's going to be criticised by the left for failing their standards
Suing an individual journalist - rather than just their publisher - is an immensely shitty thing to do: risking bankrupting not just an outfit, but an individual. A BBC staffer surely wouldnβt do this without some sign off from the BBC itself. Solidarity to @owenjonesjourno.
@rowanfornow It's a classic case of treating the symptom. Yeah, sometimes the symptom is horrible and you need to treat it, but you don't stop there. Especially in a case like this where it's been shown time and again that if you only treat the symptom, the underlying cause gets worse
@FwClaus@Owlizabeth@areyoflight Okay, asking some disabled people myself.
Hey self, can you make it on your own?
Well, no one can, we live in a society. I had a lot of privilege, but with support I was able to get a PhD and land a job. I'm still disabled, and I'm happy to share that umbrella with others
The social model of disability in one sentence:
In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is considered disabled for his inability to echolocate in the dark.
