If ID checks are “Jim Crow,” then so are Democratic National Conventions, where delegates are required to produce ID to get in!
So are the following institutions (among many others):
• Labor Union Conventions
• The Grammys
• The Oscars
• The Emmys
• Banks
• Pharmacies
• Hospitals
• Airports
• Hotels
• Gun Shops
• Casinos
• Schools
• Social Security
• DMVs
• Casinos
• Employers
IDs prevent fraud in finance, health, the Democratic Party, and so much more
Voter ID does the same for elections
Calling ID requirements “Jim Crow” is absurd and insulting to the American people, who overwhelmingly
agree that we need to take a few simple steps to make our elections secure
So, what *really* worries you about the SAVE America Act and its voter ID requirements?
Urgent: how to help save a young protester’s life.
I cannot believe how many years we’ve had to recycle this dystopian practice. God, when will it end? #ErfanSoltani
@benitoz Not sure they will catch up in a meaningful time frame. Legacy oem are notoriously cautious and slow at adoption.
They also mentioned no time frame for autonomy, still use lidar and need real world training miles.
This makes me so sad & angry - it’s happening everywhere, insects & birds too.
You all know what’s causing it - anyone who’s curious please check the comments & you will quickly discover.
The Guardian knows too - they just can’t tell you.
With a recent OTA update, @Tesla disabled the use of sockets when no one is inside, making fridges unusable.
This change significantly impacts Camp Mode.
Let’s ask Tesla to let owners responsibly enable these sockets again.
Can you help spread the word?
Elon in the Trump Spaces tonight on moving to a sustainable energy economy:
"It is something we need to move towards; People can still have a steak and drive gas cars. I don't think we should vilify people for it, but I think we should generally lean in the direction of sustainability; I think Solar is going to be the majority of Earth's energy generation in the future. So you get the solar power and you combine that with batteries and you use that to charge the electric cars, and you have a long term sustainable solution. That's what @Tesla is trying to move things towards; But when you look at our cars, we don't believe that caring about the environment should mean that you have to suffer, so we make sure that our cars are beautiful, that they drive well, that they're fast, that they're sexy. Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y spells out SEXY. It's probably the most expensive joke ever. I'm a big fan of let's have an inspiring future." - @elonmusk
Life is a blessing. So many people take it and other things that that we should be appreciated of for granted.
There is a quote and it’s a pretty long one that I believe was said/written by Richard Dawkins and it’s probably one of my favourite quotes of all time but it goes like:
“"We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born. The potential people who could have been here in my place, but who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Sahara. Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton. We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA so massively exceeds the set of actual people. In the teeth of those stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here.
We privileged few, who won the lottery of birth against all odds. How dare we whine at our inevitable return to that prior state
From which the vast majority have never stirred?"
