Earlier today, I just finished teaching my own first lesson plan. I was a little nervous but I'm glad to have the experience. Over the course of my practicum, I have slowly gained confidence and this lesson was the culmination of my work and practice!
@POTUS While I don't necessarily agree with this way to decrease gas prices, and I understand that it can damage cars, thank you for letting us know what the US governments plans are
ABQ- Take a deep breath, recollect yourself, and if you have the time do something completely different and something you like to do for 5 or 10 minutes. #teachpos
A3- Its important to remember that the next day will come, especially after a really long and tough day. It is also important to reset for the next day, water under the bridge. #teachpos
A2) I try to credit a colleagues ideas whenever possible. If they have a great or new idea on a conversation but it doesn't work in the initial whole conversation I try to fit it into the conversation and credit the idea back to them. #teachpos
A1 - While I've only had observation hours, I like to show students that I can be approachable and welcoming. This usually starts by introducing my hobbies and asking them theirs. #teachpos
Challenge: If you could establish policy for work expectations that take “weather” into account, what would that look like for students and teachers?
Feel free to respond to this challenge any time over the next week -- just remember to include the hashtag #NT2t!
A4) For me a lot of the tornado has happened in my personal life so my work at school is a good distraction that lets me distance myself from it until I've had time to process it. Not sure if that's the healthiest method but its working so far.#nt2t
When we looked up a synonym for “out of control,” one word that came up was “epidemic.”
Q4: How do you approach your work during the tornado of unpredictable events we’re living through, which could strike or miss you without warning? #NT2t
While I haven't had much experience with this as I'm just starting my observation hours, when its for my friends and peers I listen and let them rant or let it out before asking them if they need any help. #nt2t
#NT2t A4: I figure out what part of the storm will cause the most damage if it is not taken care of and try to secure the situation from there. The raindrops can be annoying, but the tornado can be devastating if not prepared for or secured against.
A2) I try to handle the work as best as I can, I try to get the work done in an orderly fashion but I sometimes cant help but procrastinate and regret it later. #nt2t
A3) I try to schedule my time, so when I finishes class for the day I take one to two hours for myself and then focus on preparing for the next day when the sun goes down and there are less distractions outside. #nt2t
@TeacherRunner42 Sometimes a little tough love is needed, hopefully I'll have a friend and mentor in my building who will help remind me of that. #nt2t
