Really excited that the first paper of my dissertation has been published with my awesome co-authors @SempleTori and @BennellCraig and the support of the Winnipeg Police Service who made this project possible.
Working with practitioners (e.g., call takers, data analysts, and officers) who are familiar with police data is essential to developing an informed understanding of the data being examined (e.g., coding rules for classifying calls for service).
I'll always be grateful to have had the privilege to meet Devon and watch him selflessly serve his community. My heart goes out to all those involved in the tragic loss of Cst Northrup and Cst Russell. Rest easy ๐ 3/3
4 years ago I had the opportunity to go on a ride-along with Devon. His unprecedented level of compassion, empathy, and passion for serving the community have made a longstanding impression on me. 1/3
Based on the interactions I observed during my short time with him it was very evident that the community of South Simcoe held him and the @SouthSimcoePS in very high regard. 2/3
@police_practice@SempleTori Thank you @DrLauraHuey! And thanks to @LFrgsn for the opportunity, I really appreciated yours and @SempleTori feedback along the way!
