NEW: Texas Tech's Joey McGuire tells @PeteNakos the Red Raiders are the hunters heading into the season🌵
"People are saying, ‘You’ve got a target on your back, man.’ I just keep going back to the Oregon game. We’re hunting because the last thing we have, the reminder we have, is us getting our butts kicked and getting shut out."

One of the first things Joey McGuire wanted to fix at Texas Tech had nothing to do with X’s and O’s.
It was the food.
He told me one of the biggest complaints from the players when he arrived was everything surrounding nutrition. So he hired two full-time dietitians dedicated solely to the football program.
For McGuire, it wasn’t just about better meals. It was about building a stronger culture. Breaking bread together, spending time as a team, and creating an environment where players wanted to be.
Sometimes the biggest changes in a program happen far away from the football field.
