The first few weeks in the new music room has brought so much joy! After having music on a cart the past few years, kids are loving playing our Orff xylophones and metallophones and having more space to do movement! 🎶
Had such a great time this morning at my first ever presentation at the OMEA conference! Thanks to my wonderful colleagues who presented with me, and for making this such a memorable experience!
Enjoyed presenting today with three of my colleagues at the Greater Cleveland Orff Chapter Share! We will be presenting our session, “Wandering Through Music Approaches: Teaching ‘Button You Must Wander’ with Dalcroze, Kodály, MLT and Orff” at OMEA on Friday, 2/4 at 9:30 am.
Students participated in our first ever virtual Winter Sing-Along on Friday! Although not physically all together as one student body, students enjoyed singing “together” via Google Meet in their classrooms to celebrate the holiday season!
2nd grade recently learned the notes so and mi, and they have been reading songs with those notes off of the staff to play on the xylophones. Here they are playing “Doggie Doggie.” We were so excited to bring back the xylophones after not playing them last year!
1st grade enjoyed learning the play party “Bonjour Mes Amis” while dancing with many different partners. We also sung this in French, English, and Spanish!
What is new in the Bryden music class? It has been a while since I’ve posted, so here are a few updates! Kindergarten visited the “farm” for their first unit, meeting a new animal (and instrument) each day! Here’s them playing the drums on the “neighs” of the song.
