What the lead up of your wedding should be: excitement, nerves, final preparations
What it is for a covid bride: sleepless nights, sickness, anxiety, uncertainty, the inability to plan, tears daily and checking of news reports 24/7

Please STOP saying “a few more weeks”. It doesn’t work like that. Pre-covid weddings are booked 2-3 years in advance. Dates are fully booked from 21st June, it is not a case of picking a weekend 3 weeks in advance #whataboutweddings
Being told ‘I wouldn’t make any plans yet’ by @RobertJenrick pretty much sums up how much this govt understand the wedding sector. Who needs to plan right? What an idiotic comment that shows a fundamental lack of knowledge, care or thought.

We’ll have waited an additional 19 months by the time we can (hopfefully) get married. Our wedding, booked pre-pandemic, is paid in full. We can’t have just 30 people, we simply can’t suffer that financial loss. So I ask you @BorisJohnson@Christian4BuryS#whataboutweddings
Please read the image & ask for parity, fairness & a clear roadmap for weddings to bring them in line with sporting events going ahead pre-Jun21st. The lack of clarity for this sector is a disgrace #whataboutweddings@BorisJohnson@WAWofficialUK@JeffSmithetc
The #WhatAboutWeddings campaign has been created to highlight awareness of the critical need for assistance for the £14.7bn wedding sector. Wedding suppliers, venues and couples are PARALYSED as a result of the pandemic restrictions over the past 8 months @edwardtimpson
It's not even just about weddings anymore, it's the knock on effect that the lack of clarity & support is having for couples and businesses. Our savings have been depleted, family plans no longer financially viable. There are real people behind these businesses #whataboutweddings
Weddings take months, even years to plan. I have rearranged my wedding twice in a matter of days because of the change in restrictions...30 to 15 to nothing in just a couple of months! Please don’t make me rearrange for a 3rd time #whataboutweddings@BorisJohnson@RishiSunak
This week one of our wedding suppliers went out of business, in her words ‘this year has finished her off’. She was a female owned independent business which was viable! Why has she & the wedding sector been forgotten? #whataboutweddings@Christian4BuryS@RishiSunak@BorisJohnson
£14.7 billion pound industry that employs nearly half a million people. They need a road map, they need support, they need you to tell them #whataboutweddings
Let them operate based on venue capacity like bars and restaurants. @BorisJohnson@RishiSunak@Keir_Starmer
#whataboutweddings This industry is perfectly placed to trial rapid testing with a predetermined list of guests, ensured compliance from friends and family, logistical set up and arrival times and GUARANTEED track and trace. @BorisJohnson@Keir_Starmer@RishiSunak
My wedding is more than just one day now. It is months of worry. It’s a day already paid for in full. I worry for the legally binding contracts I am in & the thousands of pounds I have invested in one day that isn’t worth 15 guests @Christian4BuryS@RishiSunak#WhatAboutWeddings
