@vibrantdad 1. 30
2. 30 - having kids sooner would have been cool only for simply being younger than I will be when they are hitting high school age but looking back I think it was the perfect time and I am a better dad than I would have been in my early 20’s
@iamscottfriesen I ask this question every morning getting them ready and at bed time... one thing that has helped is the realization that my frustration usually has to do more with me than whatever my kids are doing. They are acting their age, and my response is more about me than them.

@erichoke I love the framework. I would still suggest a core team although maybe call it something different. I think doing what you just described but having 3-4 families who do what you outlined (if possible) would be really helpful. The early days can be really lonely.
@Stoic_Father I know so many men/dads who have no real community, no meaningful friendships outside of "this guy I know from work". As people, we were made for community and life is never meant to be done alone. Find your tribe!

Parenting out of fear
- fear will keep me from giving my kids the tools they need to thrive
- fear will keep them dependent on me
- fear will give them baggage they will carry into adulthood
- fear will cause me to try and control their futures
