Boom! We cracked it! Today we are introducing Boomless Cruise—supersonic flights up to 50% faster with no audible sonic boom.
We quietly (har har) demo'd this on XB-1's first supersonic flight—three times actually. 🧵👇
@bscholl Uber's calculus now is almost the inverse of what it was during the @travisk era, when we were building the future of transportation and our own disruption in the form of self-driving.
Latest insanity: going after autonomous vehicles *because* they use electricity.
This is the decel crowd that supports electrification right up to the moment it becomes practical, then oppose it.
A fun thing Tesla could do: map pot holes and generally measure road quality/ride smoothness.
Then rank municipalities on road quality and how quickly they fix potholes. Some good ol’ fashion competition might help make things better!
My Cybercab rides are more than 50% cheaper than Uber rides.
Cost for this 15 minute ride:
• Uber: $21 (including tip)
• Model Y: $16.99
• Cybercab: $9.65 (54% less than Uber)
A couple of weeks ago I toured @boomsupersonic with @bscholl and got to see their first engine core in person.
It’s great to see this being built even if the supersonic airliner is still a thing of the future.
