Agreed. @OCallaghanJim also mentions "archaic" in discussion w/ @CharlieFlanagan https://t.co/QeskHMtcW9 We hope the minister + his dept. will work w/ everyone trying to move this forward. The "current arrangements" have now lasted 11 years #giveusthenight

@GiveUsTheNight@CorksRedFM@corkindo@echolivecork@irishexaminer we need a more balanced discussion inc. perhaps local club owners, businesses & individuals which would benefit from the introduction of new legislation- this includes publicans. Why wouldnt a more vibrant city centre at night help them!
While 4 out of 5 people in @CorksRedFM FB poll support staggered closing, a couple of publicans are against it. Post-midnight options in Cork are severely limited and need operators with a vision to enhance them, through a licensing system that helps all. https://t.co/UscSVvPX0Y
It's the smaller players that often take the biggest risks and a similar scheme in Ireland would be welcome. We'd also add unfunded community-based radio stations into it, who are also the "grassroots" of the music scene https://t.co/hxLMgpRKcq
Our new mandate, outlining our vision for music venues and the night-time economy in Ireland, is now online. https://t.co/fVA3wI4DXd Please share far and wide! Check for your favourite points from the mandate, in this thread too...
Very positive to see @GiveUsTheNight engaging in talks with government & cultural representatives from across Ireland to discuss how we can change Irish nightlife. Also great to see positive coverage of this on Irish national news @rtenews
We had a very positive meet-up yesterday, led by Minister Josepha Madigan and attended by various representatives throughout arts and culture in Ireland. Check the playback to the Six One news story here

We were very happy to hear of the emphatic response Erica and other speakers had at the annual @TheUSI Congress yesterday. A motion - drafted by @Michelle_Byrne_ - to support our campaign, was unanimously passed 👏 https://t.co/JIjZn3RnSv
I wrote this piece on behalf of @giveusthenight. Is on the current state of Irish nightlife with a background to our licensing laws + about how we must now progress: for our economy, culture + music/creative industry. Please read it, thanks #giveusthenight https://t.co/czzrySA7Bp
Excellent piece focussed on some of those from the queer community who are invigorating Dublin nightlife, and how a recognition of club culture + sufficient amount of suitable spaces must happen @MotherDublin @GlitterHoleDub@GraceClubDublin @tonie_walsh https://t.co/uqbTu01tT4
Jam-packed podcast special from @Nialler9 on Irish nightlife and our campaign. Is great to have people like Niall who understand and partake in nightlife, leading an open discussion on it. Some great contributions in this, give it a listen 🎧

Most telling part of that article today is Michael Wright feeling safe enough to make good points about nightclubs (that he never made before), 5 mins after quitting running a club. Tells you a lot of the situation + owners who won't 'rock the boat' for fear of repercussions
Celebrating 16 years as Irelands longest running techno night tonight at Dali Cork w. the King of Irish techno @sunilsharpe & our boss Jamie Behan playing all night long.
Wicked night in Groningen last night, OOST is a great space to DJ in. Tonight am pleased to be joining with @JamieBehan to celebrate SIXTEEN years of @BstElectrico at Dali (formerly The Pav). Kicks off from 10! https://t.co/Y4kjAWemR6
