Interesting. It appears that Democrats and Republicans are now competing to win over AI safety & security voters.
Whichever party is better able to speak to this populist movement will benefit in the midterm elections.
New: CPC Chair Greg Casar thinks Democrats are failing on AI.
As Democrats stake their positions, Casar gave @politico extensive insight into his vision, why his party is missing the moment and how members should become “AI populists.”

Flock Safety's AI-powered camera network is estimated to generate 1.4 billion false alerts every month.
As AI surveillance expands across America, we must ask what that means for innocent people.
Every false alert creates the possibility that a law-abiding American is stopped, questioned, or investigated because an AI system got it wrong.
Technology should help law enforcement, not erode civil liberties or due process. @secureainow

6/9 AI training & knowledge are diffusing through transnational jihadist networks.
Since 2023, ISIS-linked operatives trained selected commanders in person, teaching them how to prompt and jailbreak. Both factions of Boko Haram have since set up dedicated AI units.
They “assembled the top people in a room and used a projector to show how it works on a big screen."

Even when we were battling over ideas.
I think we need more of that in politics.
Hey, @elonmusk, we have a Tesla Model X but we can’t really fit both parents and five kids, and the new SUV only has six seats. On behalf of those who are doing our best to repopulate the West, any chance Tesla can make a minivan or SUV with 7 or 8 seats?
This is really sad, but it should also encourage anyone who wants to get a leg up in life to take reading and thinking critically about the text your reading seriously! Just because everyone stopped doing it doesn't mean it won't help you personally/professionally. Every smart person I know in DC reads a lot and fluently references that reading in conversation.
