Hi @Spotify @SpotifyStatus @SpotifyCares! we’d like to know the criteria used to decide when streams from different versions of the same song are merged or split on your platform.

Following the release of NORMAL EP, "NORMAL" by BTS went from having its versions counted separately, to being merged, and then split again today without any apparent explanation. These repeated and unexplained changes create the perception of inconsistent and selective treatment, undermining confidence in the integrity and transparency of Spotify's charts.

If there are specific rules for stream merging, they should be publicly explained and applied consistently to every artist and every release (not changed without explanation or enforced selectively).

We ask that you clarify the criteria behind these decisions and resolve this issue as soon as possible.
