One of the greatest benefits of improving your listening skills is that you start paying much greater attention to the content, meaning, and relevance of what someone is saying and you start tuning out the other fluff that tends to entice & distract everyone else, such as the speaker’s charisma, status, analogies, and stories.

This is in turn makes you a clearer thinker and a better decision maker. Even if you are already a good listener, you might, like most people, be under-estimating the range of further improvement that is possible.
