The greatest gifts we receive aren’t always material. Oftentimes, they’re the stories, wisdom, and resilience passed down through generations. ❤️
In this heartfelt conversation, Valerie Nero reflects on the legacy of her legendary aunt, Mahalia Jackson, and how the lessons, faith, and perseverance of those who came before us continue to shape who we become.
As Valerie shares, sometimes the most profound wisdom is found around the kitchen table, in everyday conversations, and in the quiet strength of those who never gave up.

What made Mahalia Jackson extraordinary wasn’t just her voice. It was her vision.
In this episode of The Bucketwish Podcast, Valerie Nero shares a side of her legendary aunt that many people don’t talk about enough. Mahalia Jackson was a strong, intelligent, and incredibly savvy businesswoman.
Long before women were encouraged to take ownership of their careers, Mahalia understood her value. She built an extraordinary career, protected her brand, and created opportunities through faith, determination, and hard work.
But what made her truly remarkable was that she never stopped pouring into others.
As Valerie reflects on the women in her family, she shares how nurturing, encouraging, and uplifting others was simply part of who Mahalia was. Whether through her music, her ministry, or her personal relationships, she inspired people to believe in themselves and pursue their purpose.
Her legacy was built through leadership, wisdom, faith, and service.
This conversation is a powerful reminder that success is not only about what you achieve. It’s about how many people you inspire along the way.

Some dreams don’t start with a plane ticket. They start with a decision. A conversation. A moment where you finally choose yourself.
The road to purpose, healing, joy, and reinvention is rarely straight, but every meaningful journey begins with movement. One brave step. One bold “yes.” One bucket wish at a time.
This summer, don’t just wait for life to happen to you. Chase the experience. Call the friend. Take the trip. Start the project. Speak the dream out loud.
Because the magic you’re searching for might already be on its way to meet you. ✨🖤
Summer of Serenity opens July 7. ☀️Sign-ups coming soon. Welcome to the ride.
Comedy has always been more than entertainment for me. It’s been healing. Survival. A way to find light in some of the darkest moments of my life.
This week on The Bucketwish podcast, I had the honor of sitting down with comedy teacher Susanna Spies to talk about the power of humor, vulnerability, and learning to trust yourself enough to simply be who you are.
For so long, I thought being funny meant people wouldn’t take me seriously. I kept parts of myself small. But one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that strength and softness can coexist. You can be intelligent, driven, respected… and still laugh loudly, be playful, and embrace your joy.
There is something incredibly freeing about no longer performing who you think you’re supposed to be and finally allowing yourself to show up authentically.
Thank you, Susanna, for helping people find their voice and their confidence through comedy. And thank you to everyone supporting this journey and everything we’re building with The Bucketwish. There’s so much heart inside of it, and I’m endlessly grateful. ✨🖤

Something is coming this summer. ☀️
Four weeks.
Headphones in.
Designed for the way you actually live in July and August, not for the woman you wish you were, but for the one you are.
Growth that moves with you. Gentle structure. Real peace. A softer way forward.
Summer of Serenity opens July 7. ☀️Sign-ups coming soon.
How do I chase my dreams? What if I’m not good enough? Is it too late for me?
Questions like these keep so many of us standing still. Waiting for certainty. Waiting for permission. Waiting for the perfect moment.
But what if the answer isn't to have it all figured out? What if the answer is simply to take the first step?
Take a deep breath. Trust yourself. Trust the journey.
Every goal you've ever admired, every dream you've ever imagined, started with someone choosing courage over comfort and action over fear.
You don't need to know every step ahead. You only need enough faith to take the next one.
Your future isn't built in a single leap. It's built one brave step at a time.
So take a deep breath.
Then take the first step. ✨

Right now, it feels like the world is asking us to pick a side before we've even had a chance to listen.
In this conversation on The Bucketwish Podcast, @erickanmalone sits down with Chef Tara Punzone, founder of @puravita_la, and Deborah Mars from the team #blacksantacausecollective to discuss something we could all use a little more of: compassion.
Together, we explore the power of tuning out the noise, thinking for yourself, and reconnecting with the values that bring us together instead of pulling us apart.
Because beyond the headlines and opinions, there are real people, real stories, and real opportunities to create positive change.
"There's so much darkness out there. Bring the light."
It's a simple message, but one that feels more important than ever.
This episode is a reminder that kindness is powerful, listening is powerful, and choosing love over division is still one of the most radical things we can do.

We're taught to keep moving. Hustle harder. Work longer. Push through. We don’t talk enough about the art of pausing.
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is stop long enough to refill your cup.
You can't continue creating from an empty place. You can't keep pouring into everyone else when there's nothing left for yourself. Protect your energy.
Feed yourself with things that inspire you. Surround yourself with people who uplift you. Spend time in spaces that bring you peace. Invest in the things that help you grow. Because the energy you allow into your life matters.
Pause. Breathe. Refill.
The next version of your life may be waiting on the other side of giving yourself the time and space to grow.
✨ Take a moment for yourself today. You deserve it.

This moment from The Bucketwish Podcast stopped us in our tracks. ❤️
A raw and honest conversation about grace, gratitude, forgiveness, and learning how to give yourself the same compassion that God has already given you.
“Thank you.”
“I would apologize.”
“For not giving myself more grace.”
Sometimes the hardest thing to do is extend kindness to ourselves. This episode is a reminder that healing begins there.

Every dream starts as something quiet.
A thought. A hope. A vision only you can see before the world understands it.
The difference between wishing and becoming is having the courage to keep going even when the path feels uncertain. ✨
Success stories are not built overnight. They are built through faith, resilience, sacrifice, and the decision to keep showing up for yourself again and again.
Protect your dreams. Invest in them. Speak life into them. And most importantly, give yourself permission to believe they are possible. 🤍
Your story is still being written.

What does inclusivity in the kitchen really look like?
This week on The Bucketwish Podcast, Chef Tara Punzone, founder of @puravita_la, opened up about creating a space where more people feel seen, welcomed, and able to gather around the table. ✨🍝🌱
As the founder of the first 100% plant based vegan Italian restaurant of its kind, Tara shares how food can be both deeply rooted in tradition and radically inclusive. From allergies and dietary restrictions to conscious living and accessibility, this conversation challenges the idea that anyone should feel excluded from the experience of sharing a meal.
“Exclusivity” in the kitchen can look like limited options, lack of awareness, or making people feel like their needs are an inconvenience. Tara’s mission flips that narrative, proving that incredible Italian food can exist without compromise, while still bringing everyone in.
This episode is about more than food. It’s about community, intention, compassion, and creating spaces where people feel like they belong. 🤍
