This gorgeous Platecarpus specimen, on display at the @NHMLA is one that shows the texture of the skin! They had small scales not too dissimilar from living lizards.

Here is small trilobite known as Bolaspidella. This comes from the Middle Cambrian (Drumian) Conasauga Formation of Floyd County, Georgia.

Today's the first day of classes for the Spring 2023 semester!! 🎉But geology doesn't take breaks! Over the Winter Recess Prof. Chris Daniel and student Jonathon Moyer ('24) took a trip to Arizona to collect some data in the field! Let's keep that motivation through the semester!
