Maka Botchorishvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia in her keynote has admitted that security is a vital necessity. The fragility of security is a reality that Georgia understands deeply. Georgia cherishes peace, and the country has repeatedly proven itself to be a reliable partner in the Euro-Atlantic region.

Furthermore the Minister underlined that security is not only military. It is also economic. Despite regional instability, Georgia has shown strong recovery in tourism, innovation, and investment. Through transparent regulation and a predictable business environment Georgia’s role as a reliable partner and a key transport and logistics corridor.

We are closely following developments in Venezuela with the hope that future processes will unfold in line with the best interests of the Venezuelan people. Given that the Venezuelan authorities recognized Georgia’s occupied regions, Abkhazia and the so-called South Ossetia, as independent states in gross violation of international law, we express hope that recent developments will lead to the reversal of this unlawful decision, in line with Georgia’s national interests and international legal principles.
