According to the food banks themselves, 50% or more of their clients are migrants -- including temporary foreign workers and foreign students.
They can't believe how stupid we are, running "free" grocery stores.
And they're surely grateful to CTV for not mentioning it.

We are being held hostage by Edmonton.
Steve Harvey reveals he woke up owing the IRS $22,000,000 because his accountants spent SEVEN YEARS pocketing his tax checks and never filing a single return.
The government told him he had to pay $650,000 a month, every month, for 4 years. Miss ONE payment, and you go to JAIL.
He never would've known if his accountant hadn’t died. A woman cleaning out the office called his lawyer with a serious problem.
STEVE HARVEY: “She had found on the floor all my tax forms for seven years signed and with the checks stapled to it.”
“Well, they were cashing the checks, keeping the money and not turning in the tax forms.”
Seven years of bank statements that looked like a man paying his taxes.
“My lawyer called me, said, ‘Hey, man, we got a problem. You haven’t paid taxes in seven years.’”
“He said, ‘Man, that’s tax evasion. You can go to prison.’”
“I ended up owing 22 million. 22 million with the penalties.”
When he told his wife, Marjorie, she cried for two straight days.
“She says, ‘What you going to do?’ I said, ‘I’m going to go to work.’”
And he did.
“I took every comedy gig in this country, signed every contract. I went to work, man. I worked every single Friday, Saturday and Sunday.”
“I never missed a payment.”
He did that for four years. $650,000 a month, every month.
In 2012, he sold 49% of his radio company and used the check to pay the government off to zero.
“And that was the first time, man, I could breathe.”
The thieves were his accountants.
The $22,000,000 bill went to Steve Harvey.
And the only one who got threatened with prison was the man who got robbed.

I genuinely need to know. How do illegals actually function in this country?
How do they open bank accounts? How do they buy cars? Rent apartments? Get credit cards?
Meanwhile I've got a whole folder just to renew a car registration: Social Security card, birth certificate, two forms of photo ID, proof of address, title, registration, smog test.
Every time I need to do anything that actually matters, it's a stack of paperwork and a trip somewhere to prove I am who I say I am.
How does someone with none of that documentation just... operate? Bank accounts. Credit cards. Cars in their name. Leases.
I genuinely don't get how the math works.
I’m a Canadian who loves Starlink. In fact, on our rural property, there were no Canadian providers who could provide us with internet due to the location/tree coverage.
So we applied for Starlink on the trial when it first launched.
Best thing we ever did for the farm. All of the neighbours now have it as well, and it literally connected everyone with no service for decades to full bars and the ability to call on wifi/check the news and weather online for literally the first time.
I think it’s disgraceful that the Canadian government is trying to score political points and villainize such an effective product made by a Canadian citizen. Thanks @elonmusk for how much your product improved our quality of life.
🚨 BREAKING: The Supreme Court of Canada will hear the federal government’s appeal over its invocation of the Emergencies Act.
Two levels of court. Four judges. All found that the federal government acted outside its legal authority.
Yet the government has decided to spend more taxpayers’ money fighting those rulings, all the way to the Supreme Court.
When this began with extraordinary emergency powers used against citizens protesting government policy, we really have to question what the government is spending public money to defend: the public interest, or its own power to silence political opposition?
What is the value to Canadians? What is the point? How does this serve the public?
Why must citizens spend years paying to challenge government overreach in court, while also funding the government’s lawyers through their taxes? Why is it so hard for government to respect people’s rights and do the right thing in the first place? How is any of this reasonable or fair?
Canadians are left paying both sides of a legal battle that should never have been necessary. Imagine if the government put that same effort and those resources into serving the public.
Doesn’t that sound nice?!
Personally I think we should be dropping cold cases in front of a bunch of late-diagnosed autistics and see how many they solve based on pattern recognition alone

@TheJagsBigBeard He's an expert on lots of things. Like when a cargo ship hits a bridge and the bridge collapses, it was obviously a controlled demolition. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Supreme retard.
Alberta. Talked to a buddy, he told me east Indians are destroying the housing construction industry.
Uncutting all trades with low cost labor from temporary workers and they are being subsidized by the federal gov't on wages. In addition the quality of workmanship is far below Canadian standards. Most of the employees are completely untrained and unqualified.
Building inspectors off the record say they have never seen so many mistakes in home construction.
Everyone is super concerned about the outcomes.
I know the Conservatives love touting food bank stats as an economic indicator. What they ignore, however, is widespread food bank abuse by recent migrants, which is blowing out the numbers.
