It can be intimidating to try out-of-the-box strategies in a school environment where that kind of innovation is equivalent to swimming upstream. @MisterMinor shares ideas to challenge students to read, listen, think and question powerfully in this post. https://t.co/bq8Apit328
One of the many amazing aspects of my role is participating in PD for every content area. Today, I learned so much about teaching math and making it accessible for all students!! I feel lucky to have these opportunities! #alwaysgrowing#ILoveMyJob#mathisfun
Effective teachers don't focus so much on rules, but on routines, procedures and expectations. If you focus on rules, you will spend most of the year enforcing them. But if you focus on routines, procedures, and expectations, you rarely have to defer back to the rules.
1st day of my 20th year! Not sure how time goes so fast…it feels like just yesterday I was a first year teacher at KMS teaching science, SS and home and careers. It’s amazing to reflect on all the changes and growth that have happened along this journey!Excited for even more!

I always say focus on the visionaries, on the willing! When you spend all your time on the resistors, you are sending a message to your visionaries ... they will notice where the love goes.

Stressful times can make it easy to misjudge a person or a situation. What may feel like micromanaging or controlling, may be just a desire to help. So remember to give everyone around you a bit of grace, mercy and tolerance.
The ending of this school year is bittersweet…it was the longest most exhausting school year, yet there is something sad about it ending. I am ready for a fresh start, excited to relax and rejuvenate, and make next year amazing!! #ilovemyjob#nextchapter#freshstart
