I hope this analysis by the IEA helps shift the obsession away from data centers and towards more important drivers of electricity growth, for example, climate change increasing the demand for space cooling (& all the others in the figure)!

Together with @JPTilsted I have a new paper out in EPA that explores why we are not seeing many investment decisions on green hydrogen projects
Focusing on the Danish case the paper argues that risk and uncertainty in various domains are holding back private investments.
Building on our data, recent discussions on end use hydrogen cases, and the literature on incumbency we suggest that the build-out of hydrogen may be to little to late, going to the wrong places, with fossil fuel incumbents likely being in the drivers seat.
I just published in Economic Geography. In my paper, I examine how the Brazilian state established Embraer, one of the largest aerospace companies in the world today. I also discuss how Embraer was privatized in the 1990s, and as a result, fostered social downgrading. +
