Many are saying their IGs are still getting hacked using the Meta AI Support Assistant exploit.
Meta claims this was patched but that doesn't seem to accurate.
Please Meta, turn off the Meta AI Support Assistant and help folks recover their accounts before this gets even worse.

I’m an ordinary Instagram user. For years I built memories here, connected with people, and poured effort into this platform. To me, Instagram was more than just an app. It was my portfolio, my business, my family album.

But for the past 1-2 years we’ve been dealing with “arbitrary suspensions” and broken verification systems.

Accounts are disabled with no reason given, no rule specified, and appeals met with automatic bot rejections. Years of work deleted in one click. If we try to make a new account with the same email or device, it’s banned within minutes.
And when we try to prove who we are, we get stuck in an endless loop: _“Your Photo ID submission could not be accepted.”_ No explanation. No second chance. No human to talk to.

I understand. You have to keep the platform safe. Fighting spam, hate, and violence is necessary. No one argues with that.

But safety and fairness must go together.

When an AI makes a mistake, there must be a human system to review it. Right now there isn’t. Even Meta’s own Oversight Board said in June 2026: _“Users receive limited information and support has failed.”_

We’re asking for 4 simple things:

*Transparency*: When you disable an account, give a clear reason + show the exact post that violated rules.
*Human Review*: Beyond auto-reject, give users a real appeal with a person who can actually read it.
*Working ID Verification*: Fix the “Photo ID not accepted” error. If the system fails, provide an alternative path to verify identity.
*Respect*: Before erasing years of effort, give the user a chance to be heard.

Instagram is work, income, community, and memories for millions of people. Right now trust is broken.

Please put an end to this. Fix the system so we can believe in it again.
