The Starlings seem to concentrate on the area of lawn that is full of Catsear while hunting using their funny gape-mouthed technique - are there more grubs (perhaps Crane Fly?) among these roots than among rye grass roots?
Oh wow, this Strangler was found by a member of the group yesterday but noone knew what it was. It's since been identified as the Strathy Strangler (Squamanita pearsonii) π This species is only known from 12 sites globally and I think this is the 3rd British record!
