From Las Piñas to Ilocos, and Tomas Morato to GenSan, this year’s Bitcoin Pizza Day was more than a tribute to the legendary 10,000 BTC pizza purchase of sir Laszlo Hanyecz it was a grassroots celebration of freedom, innovation, and togetherness across the Philippines.

A realization I had during my countless conversations from events, meetings, zoom calls, tg chatrooms, etc. is.....

A lot of Web3 teams are chasing adoption in all the wrong places.

Millions in fundings, Polished Pitch Decks and Parties in Cities most of the world will never step foot in.

and the reality is, it's not those that keep the project/s | ecosystems alive. it's the people who actually use them

"The Philippines ranked 2nd out of 146 countries in the latest edition of the 2022 Global Crypto Adoption Index produced by American-based blockchain analysis firm Chainalysis. The index measures where the most people are putting the biggest share of their money into cryptocurrency. In the region, the Philippines was ahead of Thailand (8th), China (10th), and Indonesia (20th) among others. Meanwhile, Vietnam topped in the overall index."

We’re not in the fancy launch parties.

No headlines.

No VC dinners.

We’re the ones teaching wallet setup between brownouts.

This is where the real work happens.
And honestly, it’s exhausting watching teams raise millions “for the community,” then turn around and build ON US instead of WITH US.

They chase narratives.
We build realities.
