Having the Fatui collect the gnosis never felt like them being part of that greater evil, just a minor setback for the hero in the overall scheme of things.

@EliraEcwipse_ Fatui were written as 'antagonistic' but that doesn't mean they are the 'villains'.
Heroes can join with their previous antagonists against a (greater) villain, it has happened multiple times before.
I never felt they were supposed to be 'more' antagonistical tho
