We’ve been receiving volunteer applications for @BuildWithIntern and what I’ve been seeing is so heartbreaking 💔
Sometimes the reason why you haven’t been called for an interview is not your skill, it’s how your resume is presenting your experience.
So here are 3 clear signs your resume needs a revamp.
1. You are applying consistently but not getting interviews
If you have submitted multiple applications and you are not even getting screening calls, your resume is likely not aligned with the roles you are targeting. This usually means your keywords, structure, or positioning needs improvement.
2. Your resume lists duties instead of achievements
If your bullet points start with things like “responsible for”, “assisted with”, or “helped with” without showing results, you are not showing impact. Recruiters want to see what changed because of your work, not just what you were assigned to do.
3. You are using one resume for every job
Each job description is different. If you are sending the same resume everywhere, your resume is missing key terms that ATS systems look for. Customizing your resume improves your chances of getting noticed.
Your resume is not something you create once and forget.
It should evolve as your experience grows and as the job market changes.
Sometimes a few strategic updates can make a big difference in your results.
Before you apply for your next job, you can either apply blindly and get rejected or know what your resume is missing so you can increase your chances of being invited for an interview.

P.S: BWI now has a website 🥳 Remember the vibe coding I did when loveable gave free credits for IWD? Yup! This is one of the websites I made 🥳
I started @BuildWithIntern in October 2025.
The goal was to help emerging talent gain real experience.
In less than 7 weeks, we worked with 15 founders and placed 40 interns into real companies.
They worked on actual tasks, collaborated with founders and built portfolios they could confidently talk about.
And so far, 15 of those interns have been retained 💃
That means they didn’t just gain experience, they proved their value and stayed.
I built BuildWithInterns:
- To bridge the gap between learning and working.
- To help people move from “I don’t have experience” to “Here’s what I’ve done.”
- To give founders access to emerging talent they can actually work with.
Now we’re ready for the next phase.
Cycle 2 starts April 6th.
If you’ve been waiting for an opportunity to gain real experience and build a strong portfolio, this is your sign.
@BuildWithIntern is back.
Get your portfolios ready!!! 💛
Chapter 02 of 12 💛
I talked a lot in February:
- 8 private coaching clients
- 40 new students @atcproacademy
- 203 calls @voicified (I made 60% of these calls) 🥳
One of my students landed 2 foreign paid internships with a resume template I shared in my community 💃
36 subscribers @remoteworkpadi landed interviews, 21 made it to next stage, 12 made it to final stage and 7 received job offers 💃
19 interns @BuildWithIntern completed their internship in February and 8 were retained 🥳
I also ate healthy meals 80% of the time & that’s a huge win for me 💃
February owes me nothing. March, I know you will be GREAT.
Happy new month PADI 💛
Happy Birthday to the G.O.A.T. @thetechychef 🤩
Thank you for building a platform that gives young people opportunities to grow, learn and start their careers with confidence.
From all of us at @BuildWithIntern, happy birthday 🤩
We love you 🥰
If you’ve been struggling to land a job and you want to give up, here’s your sign not to.
Here’s a story about Dubem.
Dubem applied for the Video Editor role under @BuildWithIntern and his story is one of the biggest highlights of this entire initiative.
He’s been on a job search for four months without any luck.
He’s a skilled video editor but one thing was lacking, an OPPORTUNITY.
We posted an opening for a video editor role through the BuildWithInterns program and his sister sent him the application link.
When the team reviewed his application, there was no hesitation to move him to the next stage.
Why?
His application matched what we were looking for.
His PRESENTATION sold his skill and value to us even before we heard him speak.
His portfolio was clean, structured and real.
Everything linked back to his own YouTube channel.
Nothing stolen. Nothing recycled.
This surprised my team because many video editors submitted portfolios with stolen work(Story for another day).
We interviewed him and paired him with a founder.
On the call, the confidence this young man carried shocked me.
Dubem exceeded every expectation and has been matched with a founder.
This is why I keep shouting that it is not enough to have the skill.
You must know how;
- To present yourself.
- To package your work.
- To position your value.
- To answer interview questions with confidence.
Yes, you’re talented but you’ll keep losing opportunities to those who PRESENT better.
Before you get the chance to be interviewed, your application must be convincing enough for anyone to want to know more.
This is why I created The Job Application Workshop happening this Sunday.
Instead of struggling for so long, trying out different strategies with no results, join the other freelancers and jobseekers who have had enough and are ready to learn what works.
If you doubt me, go on Google and search ATC Professional Academy.
Go on YouTube and watch my free videos.
Read the reviews.
Access to workshop is currently N10,000 naira and will go back to N30,000 after my birthday tomorrow (Nov 26th).
It’s more than enough to buy shawarma, small chops or pizza.
But your career is more important than food.
Invest in yourself so you can reap the rewards.
This is your last chance to learn the strategy on how to better apply for jobs the right way so you can get more YESes.
Make 2026 the year you stop struggling to get jobs.
📌 The replay will be available for 3 months, so if you register but miss the live session, you can always watch the replay.

See you in class 💛

The truth is that the VA market is saturated.
There are so many virtual assistants right now and a lot of them are learning the basics without putting in the work to become the best in their field.
Almost everyone is offering the same services.
Email management.
Calendar management.
So as a VA, you have to ask yourself a very honest question.
Why should anyone hire you when there are thousands of people doing the exact same thing?
Something has to make you stand out.
You need depth.
I should see your portfolio and immediately feel the effort, thought and value behind it.
That is what will make you stand out.
We have reviewed over 500 VA applications @BuildWithIntern recently and we could not confidently pick 50 people from that number.
Do you know why?
Because most people were just taking screenshots of Google Calendar or Gmail and calling it a portfolio.
There are so many other skills a VA can offer.
Automation.
Operations.
Email marketing.
Client experience.
Social media support.
But most VAs are stuck on email & calendar management alone.
If your services are not unique and your positioning is not strong, it will be difficult to get a job in this market.
I encourage you to watch this YouTube video.
It breaks down different VA roles and shows you how to stretch your skills and create more valuable service offers that will help you stand out.

It is 40 HOURS to my birthday and I feel so FULFILLED.
As I step into a new year on the 26th of November, I cannot stop thinking about how grateful I am for everything God has done in my life this year.
One of my biggest prayers was to live a life of impact, to create opportunities for people and to do meaningful work that transforms lives.
And this year, God made it possible.
Through @BuildWithIntern and @remoteworkpadi, we have already hired 23 amazing interns in less than 1 months.
This week alone, close to 10 more interns will be joining the list of those who have already landed remote roles.
If things continue at this pace, we might end November with over 30 interns hired.
For me, that is HUGE.
It is something I once prayed for without knowing how it would happen.
Entering a new year with this level of impact is the greatest birthday gift I could ask for.
Helping people gain experience, land roles and start building their careers has been fulfilling in ways I cannot even describe.
I am grateful to my incredible team.
I am grateful to every founder who trusted this initiative.
I am grateful to every intern who showed up.
And most importantly, I am grateful to God for strength, wisdom and direction.
To founders who want to join us and hire interns for your company, please send an email to [email protected].
More opportunities are coming and we would love to place more interns with you.
As you step into a new week, I pray for you:
> May this week bring ease.
> May the doors you have been knocking on finally open.
> May favor follow you in unexpected ways.
> May you receive clarity for the next steps in your life.
And may God surround you with opportunities that lift you higher.
Happy new week, Padi. 💛
P.S: New roles will be posted this evening. Anticipate 🤩
FOURTEEN INTERNS IN TOTAL 🥳🥳🥳
We just finished all our founder meetings and interviews for the week and I am so happy to announce that 14 interns have been hired this week through @BuildWithIntern
14 people now have roles they can learn from, grow with and use to build their careers.
14 people are getting opportunities I never got when I started, and that alone means everything to me.
When I think back to my early days, I remember how hard it was to find someone who believed in me or was willing to give me a chance.
I applied everywhere. I begged for internships. I sent messages that were ignored. It took months to find the right opportunities.
That is why doing this for others brings me so much joy.
I may not have had this chance, but I am grateful that I can create it for people now.
And the best part is that new founders have reached out, ready to hire interns next week.
So yes, we have more opportunities on the way and more lives that will be transformed.
Next week is already looking exciting and I cannot wait to see how many more interns step into new roles.
To all the founders who trusted us this week, thank you.
To every intern preparing for their chance next week, stay ready.
To my amazing team, God bless you 🥰
And to founders who want to join us, please send an email to [email protected].
BuildWithInterns is bigger than me now and I am grateful every day for the impact it is creating.
Signing out for the week 💛🥳
