What are your thoughts on agentic trading?

Agentic trading has not really taken off in crypto *yet*. Many VCs are bearish.

Here’s why (I think):

- Not much to buy. Most crypto tokens are down hard, only few with real revenue and value accrual, in many cases only alpha is insider info.
- Bad UX/poor tooling. We tested over a dozen products: almost all had a chat interface with limited functionality and autonomy. No backtesting. You hit limits fast - whereas my Claude/Codex/.. cli can do anything in a few minutes. Why should I be limited by your tooling?
- Too early. Crypto was fast to jump on agentic trading bc it’s easy to do on chain, you don’t need a CEX to release an MCP. Models were dimensions worse 6-9 months ago.

And here’s why VCs are wrong and its definitely coming:
- Better models
- Better UX via harnesses
- Stocks coming on chain
- Guardrails will enable full autonomy *with* human controls
- Millions of vibe coders now empowered and learning to build own agents/tools/strategies.

Autonomous agents have replaced Google search, research, coding, audits… It’s only a matter of time until personal finance and trading will be autonomous. Machines are better with numbers - add human intuition and guardrails and you get a better, convenient way of doing finances/trading.
