National Grid’s contractor, NEUCO, will be mobilizing to #SalemMA to replace the gas main on Harbor Street (including the intersections where Salem Street and Park Street meet Harbor Street) starting the week of January 2, 2023.

The scope of work includes the installation of new plastic gas main & installation of new plastic services for residents and businesses of the area.
The area that will be directly affected by the gas main replacement is: 5 to 73 Harbor St (including 1-6 Salem St & 1-6 Park St)

Please note that parking will be limited on Ferry Street, Waite Street, Peirce Avenue, and Bridge Street to allow for greater access for National Grid and its contractors.

Construction will take place between the hours of 7:00 am and 4:30 pm, Tuesday through Friday.

Starting the week of November 28, National Grid’s contractor (McCourt Construction) is expected to begin excavation for manhole installation on Bridge Street, between Ames Street and the Essex Bridge. Work will take place between 7:00 am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Construction will take place between the hours of 7:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Crews will not work on Thursday of next week due to the holiday but will return to work on Friday.
