I spent the last year trying to figure out how to land my first online service client.
Now I'm documenting what I learn about:
→ Choosing a service
→ Finding potential clients
→ Sales conversations
→ Closing the first deal
Follow if you're on the same journey.
@ItsKieranDrew The most important marketing principle is: enter the conversation already happening in their head.
That's the angle all of your marketing should follow.
The ideal conditions are simple:
• You've clearly studied their business.
• You provide a free audit or sample that demonstrates competence.
Enter the conversation already happening in their mind, and your odds of landing your first client increase dramatically.
Why aren't you landing clients?
• Not enough people know what you sell.
• Your offer isn't compelling.
• You're asking for trust before you've earned it.
Fundamentally, you aren't landing clients because you don't understand the psychology of the business owner.

You know what I learned from scrolling on X for an hour everyday?
There will always be beginners who just got into the game you spent months operating in.
Serious newbies will pay to avoid your mistakes.
@garyvee I disagree with you.
You might feel like you hate yourself because you don't build trust with yourself.
No one, but you is responsible for that.
@ItsKieranDrew It's always more favorable to have another point of view rather than assuming the way you see things is always the best way.
Sometimes, you're wrong. It happens.
Yes, AI can give you output. But it's much more accurate to get advice or education from someone who's already done what you want to do.
AI doesn't have lived experience, mistakes made or strategies implemented. It only gives output based on the information on the internet.
Instead of asking "how do I gety first client?" start asking "how not to get any clients?"
There are too many possible options of how to. How not to clarifies what not to do.
This becomes very useful for beginners drowning in information.
@stijnnoorman Self improvement boils down to the same recurring themes:
- be disciplined
- have good habits
- prioritize your health
- spend time doing things you enjoy.
Just that creators online have thousands of angles of repeating the same thing.
