Urgent Appeal for Support: Help the Hindus of Murshidabad.

The recent disturbances and concerted attack on Hindus in Murshidabad District’s Suti, Samserganj, Jangipur, Dhulian, Farakka and other areas have left many Hindu families in distress. Hundreds of Hindus are displaced and have taken refuge in neighboring districts. Those who couldn't move out are struggling to meet their basic needs. Their homes have been looted and vandalised. Even their source of drinking water such as ponds and wells have been poisoned.

Today some people have got back to their homes with the assistance of the BSF personnels. The District Administration and Superintendents of the Police Districts are not allowing people to reach these areas for distribution of relief materials. I have been sending emails in this regard but still haven't received any response from their side.

At this juncture, I would like to appeal to philanthropic Organizations such as Ramakrishna Mission, Bharat Sevashram Sangha and ISKCON to help these people in distress by arranging food materials and drinking water.

Summary of CAG Performance Audit Report on Delhi’s Healthcare System (2016-2022) tells a lot about AAP’s much touted ‘Kejriwal Health Model’. Read.

1.Underutilization of Emergency COVID Funds
•Only ₹582.84 crore of the ₹787.91 crore allocated for COVID response was used.
•₹30.52 crore meant for healthcare staff salaries and ₹83.14 crore for medical supplies (PPE, masks, etc.) remained unused, leading to shortages.

2.Failure to Increase Hospital Beds
•Against a target of 32,000 new beds from 2016-2021, only 1,357 (4.24%) were added.
•Overcrowding in hospitals ranged from 101% to 189%, forcing multiple patients onto single beds or the floor.

3.Delays in Hospital Projects & Cost Overruns
•Three hospitals saw completion delays of up to six years, with project costs escalating by ₹382.52 crore.
•Example: Indira Gandhi Hospital (5-year delay, cost overrun ₹314.9 crore).

4.Severe Shortage of Healthcare Staff
•Total manpower shortage across various departments and hospitals: 8,194 vacancies.
•Nurse and paramedic staff shortages stood at 21% and 38%, respectively.

5.Long Waiting Times for Surgeries
•Lok Nayak Hospital: 2-3 months for general surgery, 6-8 months for burns/plastic surgery.
•Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalay: Paediatric surgery wait time of 12 months due to non-functional equipment.

6.Non-Utilization of Critical Hospital Infrastructure
•Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital (RGSSH): 6 idle OTs, ICU beds, and a doctors’ hostel remained unused.
•Janakpuri Super Speciality Hospital (JSSH): 7 modular OTs, CCU beds, and a blood bank were non-functional.

7.Lack of Specialist Doctors in Trauma Centers
•No permanent senior specialists at Sushruta Trauma Centre, compromising 24/7 emergency services.

8.Lack of Basic Critical Services
•Out of 27 hospitals:
•ICU services missing in 14
•Blood banks absent in 16
•Oxygen supply absent in 8
•Mortuary services absent in 15
•Ambulance services absent in 12

9.Poorly Equipped Ambulances
•Many CATS ambulances lacked essential life-saving equipment.

10.Underutilization of Maternal Health Funds
•Utilization of funds for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCH) ranged from 58.9% (2016-17) to just 6.97% (2019-20).
•Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK): Only 30% of pregnant women received benefits.

11.Failure of Central Procurement Agency (CPA) to Supply Medicines
•Hospitals had to buy 33-47% of essential drugs directly due to CPA’s failure in procurement.

12.Non-Utilization of Land for Hospitals
•15 plots worth ₹648.05 lakh, acquired between 2007-2015 for hospitals, remained unused for up to 15 years.

13.Poor Conditions in Mohalla Clinics & AYUSH Dispensaries
•Mohalla Clinics:
•21 lacked toilets
•15 had no power backup
•12 were inaccessible for the disabled
•AYUSH Dispensaries:
•17 had no power backup
•7 had no toilets
•14 lacked drinking water

This report highlights gross mismanagement, corruption, healthcare infrastructure failures, and staff shortages in Delhi’s public health system over six years.

For the Salaried Class, NO Income Tax is applicable up to ₹12 lakh rupee. The exempt income therefore goes up to ₹12.75 lakh, due to standard deduction benefit of ₹75,000 available to salaried class.

Big boost for the Middle Class.

The Modi government has increased the income tax exemption limit to ₹12 lakh—a sixfold jump compared to the UPA era! In 2013-14, tax-free income was just ₹16,666 per month; in 2025, it stands at an impressive ₹1 lakh per month.

Under Congress rule, earning ₹12 lakh meant paying nearly ₹2 lakh in taxes. Today, under the BJP government, it is completely tax-free. Prime Minister Modi has effectively put ₹2 lakh back into the pockets of the middle class and youth.

Impact of the New Income Tax Regime
•Based on FY 2022-23 data, around 7 crore taxpayers will see their tax liability drop to zero out of a total of 7.97 crore taxpayers.
•In FY 2022-23, 64% of return filers had zero tax liability. Under the new regime, this percentage will rise to 85%.

•This means that:
•85% of all taxpayers will no longer pay any income tax.
•This marks a major relief for millions who previously had a tax burden.

The Finance Minister has announced that the New Income Tax Bill will be introduced next week. After GST, this will be India’s next major tax reform. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India will have successfully reformed both Direct and Indirect Taxes in the last decade.

मैं उनके हालात की जानकारी लेने यहां आया था, उन्हें सिर में चोटें आई हैं।

दोनों की हालत इस समय स्थिर है। डॉक्टरों का कहना है कि अभी 2-3 दिन का समय अस्पताल में लग सकता है।

लेकिन स्वस्थ लोकतंत्र में इस प्रकार की घटनाएं दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है।

मैं 30-32 साल से भारत की संसद में हूं, लेकिन आज तक इस प्रकार की दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण घटना कभी नहीं घटी। इसकी जितनी निंदा की जाए, कम है।
