My read:

Short term: constructive for the rupiah.

Long term: the broader USD/IDR uptrend has not clearly broken.

The interesting part now is watching which level the market confirms or rejects.

No prediction. Just a framework for updating the view as price moves.

As an American living in Indonesia, USD/IDR is one of the few charts I follow where the technical picture has a direct impact on everyday life.

So I took a closer look at the rupiah’s recent strength and what I’m watching next. 🧵

From here I’m thinking in scenarios, not predictions:

A) ~17,600 holds → watch ~17,730–17,880

B) ~17,600 fails → ~17,200–17,300 becomes the key trend test

C) That zone fails → ~16,800–17,000 becomes the deeper structural area

Bottom line:

I built this indicator for one reason:

Stop eyeballing extension. Measure it.

If I’m putting capital to work, I want to know whether price is near a normal condition or already several ATRs away from an important reference point.
