IGP DISU, BURNA BOY EXPLORE CREATIVE INDUSTRY ROLE IN REBUILDING POLICE TRUST
IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and Nigerian music star Burna Boy, have discussed stronger collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the creative industry to rebuild public trust and improve the image of the Police.
The discussion took place during a meeting between the IGP and Burna Boy, where both explored how Nigeria’s entertainment industry could help strengthen the relationship between the Police and citizens, particularly young Nigerians. Disu said the engagement aligns with his administration’s efforts to work with stakeholders across society to reposition the Nigeria Police Force and build greater public confidence in the institution.
The IGP also highlighted the potential of Nigeria’s creative sector and Orange Economy, noting its strong influence among young Nigerians and its capacity to shape conversations, bridge divides and promote better understanding between the Police and communities.
Burna Boy expressed support for the direction and indicated his willingness to contribute to efforts aimed at strengthening the relationship between the Police and Nigerians.
The meeting highlights the Police’s broader approach to rebuilding public confidence through partnerships with the creative industry, young people, the media, civil society and other stakeholders. The objective is to foster a Police Force whose relationship with citizens is built on greater trust, understanding and mutual responsibility.
