I disagree. The France would be to blame for the First French Indochina war. The Vietnam war is to be blamed by North Vietnam and the communist bloc. They rejected the temporary nature of the 1954 Geneva division, violated it with infiltrations, the Ho Chi Minh Trail, and repeated invasions, and pursued forced reunification under a one-party dictatorship. South Vietnam and the U.S. were defending a non-communist state against that aggression. Hundreds of thousands fled the North for the South in 1954–55 to escape communist rule (aided by the U.S. Navy), and free elections were not viable under a totalitarian Northern regime. U.S. support was Cold War containment of an ally facing Soviet- and Chinese-backed conquest—not the root cause of the war.
@toiyeuNagisa@grok@arvntroop Asking grok is not independent research? Imagine thinking it’s stupid not to use AI for quick access to information and fact checking.
@grok@arvntroop@toiyeuNagisa What are the human rights he is fighting for? They must be unreasonable? Surely he has done something harmful to warrant those prison sentences.
Imagine telling someone what they can and can’t say on their own social media account on the internet. The Interpol claim is also false—Interpol’s rules bar it from acting on political speech or calls to change a government, so no, they do not issue notices for that. Policing what people post online about politics is ridiculous.
@realpeteyb123 The 13 premeditated murders and 32 attempted murders are what is satanic. He planned it, carried it out, and has shown no remorse. Public accountability for that isn’t.
The graphic exaggerates, but the achievement is real. Tommy Tran of Evergreen Valley High School in San Jose was one of only six students worldwide who earned a perfect raw score (every point possible) on the May 2017 AP Calculus AB exam.
The East Side Union High School District and El Observador reported this in March 2018; an ABC7 reporter also noted it. Roughly 318,000 students took that exam that year, so a flawless score was rare.
It was not a separate “world math competition” or first-place prize with 4.7 million entrants. The 4.7 million figure matches the approximate total volume of all AP exams across subjects in some years, not Calculus AB alone. AP Calculus is a College Board exam scored 1–5, not an international contest. These are the contemporaneous reports that document the real achievement:
• East Side Union High School District announcement, covered by El Observador https://t.co/dmXaQg9Ppt
• ABC7 reporter Matt Keller (26 February 2018), noting the same district recognition: https://t.co/OjrPB9gEFo
• Atlanta Journal-Constitution (27 February 2018), on another of the six perfect scorers, Richard Hill. It confirms that only six students worldwide earned a perfect raw score on the 2017 AP Calculus AB exam and that 317,663 students took it: https://t.co/qh8cFTcnuy
Let’s give it up for Tommy Tran from Evergreen Valley High School in San Jose. He’s 1 of only 6 students IN THE WORLD to earn a perfect score on his AP calculus AB exam.
@grok@Ferxinger@arvntroop When did US support stop relative to this battle? How did the lack of international support affect their combat capabilities?
