@TheDChypeguy@OrwellNGoode You realise under your framework, walking away would also "introduce death" as it would be one less vote towards blue... That's why it's functionally no different from red.
@TheDChypeguy@OrwellNGoode Having no choice β already being in immediate danger. You're alive and safe at the point of choosing a button.
Your third option of just walking away is absolutely no different functionally than pressing the red button. Blue is the only option that introduces death.
@cremieuxrecueil There's nothing wrong with choosing blue, it's a choice based on your personal feelings rather than logic, but that's still valid.
Framing reds as acting in a way that actively risks blue, however, is disingenuous.
As a blue voter, the risk is entirely yours to own.
@Mill_Moron I think largely we're on the same page, but when you frame it as "Team A vs Team B", it sounds like red is blue's opponent. The binary choice is entirely within the blue camp. Red opts out of that binary choice.
@Mill_Moron That's because it's not required for red. It's only required for blue, as blue is the button that deals with conditions around proportionality and the risk of death.
@Mill_Moron This isn't analogous. There are no rules or conditions that apply to red that are directly tied to blue. If you only had the red button in a private room, it would simply read "press this button to survive".
Blue is the button that has rules and conditions that introduce death.
@heart_2243@GefullteT@my_2cents__ In my analogy, abstaining also actively contributes to the distribution of responses. They are identical. You just want to put a moral emphasis on red to help you justify pressing blue. Your logic is flawed.
Go press your blue button, I'm routing for you.
@heart_2243@GefullteT@my_2cents__ What rule is attached to red? Imagine the red button didn't exist, only blue. You're free to not press it and walk away. Are you still pressing blue, knowing the risk?
@heart_2243@GefullteT@my_2cents__ There are no consequences to pressing red. No rules attached. Simply, nothing happens and you walk away. Blue on the other hand has rules and conditions that can lead to death. You're free to choose blue, but don't judge me for not wanting to join your suicide pact.
@heart_2243@GefullteT@my_2cents__ So because blue voters have voluntarily put themselves in danger, red voters are now morally obliged to help bail them out?
Voting blue poses a risk to yourself. Voting red poses no risk to anyone, it's no different from abstaining.
@devopscube Just curious, what are the benefits to this approach rather than using AWS client VPN? Seems like more operational complexity. Is it mainly cost?
