Challenger Oeiras 🇵🇹
Gastão Elias ML vs Tiago Pereira @2.10 (1U)
For me, these odds should be reversed.
Oeiras clay is probably one of the places where Gastão feels most comfortable, while Pereira has never really done anything special on these courts and is much more of a hardcourt player.
Pereira also comes from a long week in singles and doubles on a different surface, with rain delays and less than 48 hours to adapt. Physically and mentally, that is not an ideal setup.
I think the market is mainly doubting Elias’ fitness, but from what I saw vs Domingues, he was moving well and looked much better physically than the odds suggest.
At 2.10, I’m happy to back Gastão here.
Landaluce has played very well, but this draw has been extremely kind.
LL spot as seeded 16, 1st-round bye, then Cilic and Bellucci on sea-level clay.
Credit to him for taking full advantage and not getting broken in either match.
20yo lucky loser Martin Landaluce plays great to beat Mattia Bellucci 6-4, 6-3 and reach the last 16 in Rome.
Lost 7 points on serve ALL match.
He becomes the 6th ever LL to reach the last 16 in Rome (ATP side).
2nd career ATP M1000 R16 after Miami QF earlier this year.
@tonjedonedidit@JerryBord8@vvvvvictoria_@josemorgado Bro what the fuck are you talking about? When did I mention anything about his level of tennis or say he’s 29 by luck and hype? You’re arguing with a point nobody made 😂
3 years ago, João Fonseca and Rafa Jodar signed with Virginia Men's Tennis, both as 16 year-olds.
On Sunday, they meet again at age 19, now as arguably the two biggest teenage prospects in world tennis.
Virginia scouting department was absolutely cooking.
@vvvvvictoria_@josemorgado Asking for noise after a netcord winner is loser behaviour.
If he had won the match, he would’ve been celebrating with the same “annoying” fanbase he’s now complaining about.
Hypocrite.
Packed Foro Italico, degen gamblers in every court, and people still usually respect points/serves.
Yet somehow whenever Fonseca (Brazilians) is involved, the crowd completely loses the plot.
Someone needs to educate these new "tennis fans", it's getting too annoying.
Hamad Medjedovic to the umpire about the crowd during his match against João Fonseca in Rome
“Tell them to shut up and let me serve. I’ll play”
Umpire: “Listen.. It’s gonna be loud. There’s gonna be some people talking. I’m trying my best to control them. Keep playing. You have to play”
@Christian2dos@29 Of course you do, you are from the country with prolly the most degen bettors who are too dumb to think for themselves and will fall for anything
