i usually agree with the take that adaptations of 80’s cartoon should try to take their corny source material seriously (because why would you make adapt it into a movie/series if you clearly dislike it and think it’s stupid) but in the case of masters of the universe (1/2)

(2/2) i honestly didn’t mind them playfully poking fun at the ultra-gendered and on-the-nose names like fisto, he-man, mecha-neck, etc. especially since they very sweetly based the names off of a young adam’s imagination and his appreciation for the heroes of his home.
