Teaching, coaching and supporting new skills for ward based nurses to support the care of patients in Critical Care. #SecondWave
The loss of care to Winchester is massive. The deception is almost as frustrating. They know that it means the end of a fully functioning hospital in Winchester, yet use weasel words to avoid saying so.
The ecological implications of a green site build, and of requiring more people to drive, are also significant. The new hospital will be away from main bus routes and population centres.
Yesterday Hampshire Hospitals Trust revealed that there are now only six options for the new hospital and that none involve keeping emergency or intensive care in Winchester, and so only a midwife led maternity unit.
Our emergency departments are particularly busy at the moment and our teams are working hard to care for everyone who comes to the front doors of our hospitals. Please remember to use the right service to get the care and advice you need.

All four of our children were born in the @NHSuk/@HHFTnhs's Royal County Hospital, Winchester.
We were, and remain, eternally grateful.
Would like to wish Helen Holloway all the best in her new role in the respiratory team. We joined our ED Family on the same day 17 years ago and have seen many many changes to practice , the department and the team : what a journey and what a consistently fabulous team. Good luck
Well done to the emergency department team at our Winchester hospital who have won a @thewowawards! In one month the team received multiple nominations, one of which said: “I was cared for with kindness, professionalism and empathy from start to finish! I am so grateful!”
