İnsanların neden şu anda Yamaha’nın kötü iş çıkardığını düşündüğünü anlamıyorum. Bana göre işler tahmin ettiğimden daha iyi gidiyor. Diğer üreticiler uzun yıllardır V4 motorlu motosikletlere sahipken, bizim motosikletimiz tamamen yeni. Bu motosiklet yalnızca üç ay önce Malezya’da, Andrea Dovizioso ve Augusto Fernandez dahil altı farklı sürücüyle piste çıktı. Diğer V4 motosikletlerle aynı seviyede olmasını bekleyemezsiniz. Onlar detayları geliştirirken biz bir projeyi çalışır hale getirmeye uğraşıyoruz. Şu ana kadar hep şampiyonluk için savaşan ve motosikletlerini en üst seviyeye taşıyan rakiplerden yalnızca 1 ila 1.5 saniye geride olmamız bana göre büyük bir iş.

Başka biri çok daha önce sinirlenip masaya yumruğunu vurabilirdi.

Jack ise rekabetçi olduğunu göstermek istiyor ama ona da bunu sağlayacak silahları veremiyoruz. Zamana ihtiyaç var. Sürücülerin istediği başka, Yamaha’nın ihtiyacı başka. Bu yüzden sakin kalmak gerekiyor ama sonuç isteyen bir sürücü için bunun zor olduğunu da anlıyorum.

Bazen MotoGP deneyimi olmayan sürücüleri dinlemek, teknisyenlerin farklı bir yön, yaklaşım ve zihniyet benimsemesine yardımcı olur. Bu yüzden Toprak’ın takımda olması olumlu. Sadece çok yetenekli bir sürücü olduğu için değil, aynı zamanda yeni bir bakış açısına sahip olduğu için de.

Toprak başlangıca göre artık o kadar uzak değil, gelişimi açıkça görülüyor ama hala bizim padok seviyemiz için yeterli değil. Çok profesyonel ve aynı zamanda zeki biri. Ona bir şey gösterdiğimizde piste döner dönmez bunu uygulamaya çalışıyor. Şu an en büyük problemi lastikleri anlamak. Ön lastikle ve motosikleti durdurmakla ilgili sıkıntı yaşıyor. İstediği gibi fren yapamadığını hissediyor. MotoGP, elektronik ve ayar anlamında Superbike’a göre çok daha karmaşık. Burada binlerce seçenek var ve doğru yolu kaybetmek ya da motosikleti istediğiniz noktaya getirememek çok kolay. Birçok faktörün birleşimi söz konusu ve şu anda motosiklet onu yönlendiriyor, o motosikleti değil.

Amerika’da ve Jerez’de yarışın son bölümünde olduğu gibi bazı anlarda motosikleti gerçekten sürebildiğini gördük. Hatta son turlarda, yeni lastiklerle yarışın başına kıyasla daha hızlıydı. Bunun nedenini anlamaya çalışıyoruz. Çok garip bir durum ama bize yardımcı olabilecek bir başlangıç noktası olabilir.

Üstelik Michelin lastiklerine alışmaya çalışırken, gelecek yıl yeniden çok iyi tanıdığı Pirelli lastiklerine geçilecek olması da adaptasyon sürecini daha karmaşık hale getiriyor.

Dürüst olmak gerekirse, bizim padoka gelmek için en zor zamanı seçti.

@___BMA___ Silverstone only care about F1 and have done for years, GP fans don’t go anymore because it’s cheaper to go abroad for a twice as good experience, no brainer! They take more and more away each year and prices rise, greed doesn’t work with GP fans like it does F1.

Question has to be asked, why if something is wrong with Senna’s bike in that moment is he sat on the racing line?? Should be instantly moving out the way if something’s wrong, incidents like this have been fatal in the past…
