Very sad to report that garden designer, author, broadcaster and all round design legend John Brookes (DOB: 11 Oct 1933) has passed away this morning, aged 84. #rip

Star find of the trip: Euphorbia handiensis. Found only on Jandia, with an area of occupancy of 12 km² at just 2 locations on the whole planet. Stunning. 🙂

Nice when you find a plant in the greenhouse you completely forgot you had
This is two small bulbs of the beautiful scilla maderensis a rare endangered, species, from the island of Madeira
I wonder how long before they reach flowering size
But it’ll be well worth the Wait 😁🌱
