Would anyone be able to recommend some pieces of text that would be suitable to carry out a year 6 vocab lesson (in prep for SATs)?✨ I want it to be an unseen text for the children- therefore I don’t want to use a class read etc... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!🤩
Reading lots of posts about the dread of returning to school next week. Please remember, for some children, your classroom will be their sanctuary, their safe place. They can't wait to see you, to feel safe and loved. Look forward to seeing them again too.
finding it hard as a (trainee) teacher (and human being) to stomach the results of last night elections. If there is anything to take from it though it’s that I will make sure my classroom is filled with love for all regardless and will not be divided and ran by hatred.
And just like that, 8 coffee fuelled weeks of placement are complete!☕️I have loved every minute of it and have learnt so much🤩 My class has been amazing; full of such smart, caring, resilient learners! Can’t wait to come back and visit in the future...✨
When you see Y6 on the field this afternoon and realise your Y6 teacher is catapulting balls in the air (with revision maths questions attached) for children to chase and answer 😂👍👏
Had the most amazing week celebrating “Heritage Week” at my placement school. Year 5 made shields which represented them as individuals... so proud of how they turned out. It’s so lovely to celebrate such a variety of backgrounds and interests!🌈 #diversity#heritage
Reports like this are the reason we need to teach #climatechange as a more serious topic in school and for it not to just be taught as another P4C lesson. It's our job to educate the children on the severity of it and begin to build a better, safer future for them. 🌎🌍🌏
The chairs in Year 5 quit today...I had children laying on and under tables, standing up, leaning against walls and hiding in the book corner. A great first week back! Thanks for the inspiration @MrBoothY6 😄
First week back after Easter and it’s been great! It’s so lovely to hear all about what the kids got up to over the Easter holidays and also to see them return, ready to focus and continue with their learning!🐣💛
I’ve been watching #ourplanet today and it really does make you see what we are doing to the world. #Sustainability is so important and we need to teach children the impact we can have on something so precious🗻🐋
