@oriordanbondEA Genuine ‘lump in the throat’ moment as he watched the fly past and said ‘last time I saw them, they were flying in anger’
What a guy! 👏🏻

Well, I’m getting calls regarding the potential of returning & reopening units on sites - from two separate developers / main contractors. It would appear that building sites are keen to return to #Businessasusual - but can they get supplies!? #lockdown#Covid19UK
@premnsikka@MrConnieS Prem you may as well talk to a brick wall with some people - they see a UK registered company and think that’s the end of the story.
@TeddyFella@JamesRignata @RichRichbaboon Totally agree! - my sympathy has always been and will always be with the employees of the airline - but what is at discussion is if the airline should be given a government backed loan - my opinion, there is a deal to be done.. but Branson has to withdraw any ownership.
@TeddyFella@JamesRignata @RichRichbaboon Ultimately Dan yes, you’re correct 51% is owned by the Virgin Group - but it’s the web of companies that make up ‘the Group’ that you should turn your attention towards and ultimately the question to ask is.. ‘where does that chain of companies end?’ THAT is important bit!
@TeddyFella@JamesRignata @RichRichbaboon I should say - probably for legal reasons - that there is nothing illegal in running things this way, indeed it’s very *tax effective* - it is however, rather important that people know it when you want a government backed loan for your business.
@TeddyFella@JamesRignata @RichRichbaboon Dan it’s designed to be confusing. Ever heard of a company called Bluebottle UK or Bluebottle Investments? No? Why not? They ‘own’ or have ‘owned’ Virgin Atlantic at some point - look beyond the ‘face’ of what you’re told is everything.
@townfieldfox @TeddyFella@JamesRignata @RichRichbaboon What you’re looking at there is the ‘face’ of the business.. ask yourself who owns that company. I’ll tell you, it’s Virgin Travel Group (GB) - but who owns Virgin Travel I hear you cry.. another company - then another, then another (all over the place) - ending in BVI.
@TeddyFella@JamesRignata @RichRichbaboon (3/3) The final owner of which is.. (drum roll) Virgin Group Holdings - based again in the British Virgin Islands - because of course, ‘the weather is nice’ obviously!
@TeddyFella@JamesRignata @RichRichbaboon . (2/3) To answer Rich; yes, Virgin Atlantic pay (as do virtually all Virgin branded businesses ‘Media’ / ‘Active’ etc) to use the Virgin brand - payments are made to UK based Virgin Enterprises which itself is again owned by a web of companies
