If Pitt had a new football coach, they’d see a big influx of donations. The next coach may only be 7-6 or 8-5 every year, too. He may even end up being terrible. But he’ll get a good start, because at the beginning, the excitement with donors will cause a lot more money to flow in. As it stands now, everyone knows that every season is the same. There’s no hope for anything big, and donations are just selling hope.
