In an existence between earning money in London and finding my soul in rural France. Bass player, mother of cats(not dragons) and drinker of very good burgundy.
It’s obvious @thameslink have never owned a trainset, but based on the fact the air conditioning is on on the second train in two days on the coldest two days of the year indicates they also don’t have access to a weather app.
Labour is hiking taxes on billionaires.
Don’t be distracted by the farmers protesting in Westminster. Inheritance tax on farmland means the super rich will pay their fair share.
Here’s who’s most affected:
@TLRailUK Silly question I’m sure but have Thameslink thought about workforce planning and hiring more train crew? May mean that we don’t have trains cancelled for this completely manageable problem every day.
@LukeTryl This really doesn’t get framed correctly - why do people deserve “something extra” just for getting older. An ageing population is a burden on the state 55% of the social security budget (£167 billion) is spent on pensions. That doesn’t include additional benefits pensioners get.
Interesting analysis on the swing in Leave voting seats. Brexit dividend didn’t happen so brexiteers cast their vote to the party who lied to them about that dividend… #bbcelectioncoverage#elections2024
@TLRailUK social media team obviously finding it tricky to get into work this morning too judging by the lack of update on the late running services today.
@Peston It’s so short termist or if cynical “I’m alright Jack” as it’s the poorest who will suffer from climate change disaster - the ones he is claiming he is helping by making the disaster more likely. The rich will find ways to buy their way to safety.
Considering hardly any trains are leaving East Croydon it’s surprising how long signals are staying on red. Is this some kind of action short of strike activity by signal men/people ? #traindriversstrike
Good to see @scottishpower aren’t taking part in the incentive to reduce energy during peak demand. 🙄 Consistently charging high prices at all times of the day despite usage profile and insisting on smart meters anyway. (I still have to give my readings manually)
What is so striking is how many conservative mps are still talking about what is “ best for the party”. It’s a real give away - that party still seemingly comes before country and constituents and democracy.
Reasonably sure someone who can’t tell the difference between their work and personal email accounts shouldn’t have been Home Secretary in the first place. #Braverman#resignhonestly#areyoureallythatinept
@europaendlos@GavinBarwell They also have a shed load of cash we’re probably going to have to borrow because we now can’t afford to borrow on the open market so 🙄 #takingbackcontrol
From @TheIndyMoney leader today “The terrible truth is that social security benefits and teachers’ wages, for example, are being cut back in order to pay for tax cuts for the very rich – and to save face for Liz Truss and Kwasi Kwarteng.” #ukeconomy#Trussonomics
