🚨Mother pulls student from school due to safety concerns following anti-ICE protest

Mother of Olympic Middle School in Auburn on Friday, January 30, pulls her daughter out of the school due to safety reasons because of an anti-ICE protest during school hours.

The mother alleges that students were getting anti-ICE signs out of a blacked out “party bus” that can be seen in the video. Students can be seen walking into and out of this black “party bus” parked in front of the school’s lobby.

The concerned parent share with school staff that she pulled up to the school, parked her vehicle, rolled down the window to ask students outside “what is going on.” Hundreds of students then began to boo her with some allegedly surrounding her vehicle because she didn’t honk her horn to support their anti-ICE protest, the mom told school officials.

In the video, she stated that the school is not providing a safe and conducive learning environment by allowing students to miss class and disrupt traffic; so, she decided to pulled her daughter from the school.

The mother is encouraged by the outpouring of love and support from thousands of people she is receiving online.

According to the latest Report Card (2024-25), academic performance metrics reported by the Office if Superintendent of Public Instruction for Olympic Middle School in Auburn are the following:

- Students attending at least 90% of school days: 57.4%
- Foundation Grade Level Math: 41.7%
- Foundation Grade Level Science: 43.3%
- Foundation Grade Level English Language: 60.3%
- Cost per pupil: $17,533
